2022 Volkswagen Golf R revealed with better style and performance

Volkswagen has pulled back the curtain on its eight generation Golf R, revealing the most powerful VW Golf. The Golf R hatchback is looking more spectacular than the last model. The automaker also said that its performance has been improved.

Like its current outgoing model, it features a 2.0 L inline-four engine paired with standard six-speed manual transmission producing 315 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. The Mk 8 car has 27 horsepower and 30 lb-ft more than the Mk 7 car. The six-speed dual-clutch automatic is also available.

Volkswagen claims that the new Golf R has a top speed of 155 mph and it goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds for DSG car. The interior and exterior of Golf R are familiar to other VW’s featuring blue accents for brake calipers, interior stitching, and trim pieces. It also features 19-inch wheels in 235 series summer tires, rear spoiler larger air intakes, rear diffuser, and body kit. In the interior, it features a 10-inch touchscreen display, digital instrument cluster, sports seats, and leather-wrapped steering wheel with touch controls.

 

 

In the U.S. the new Golf R will be offered in single trim which includes everything like sunroof, leather seats, etc. The eight-generation Golf will be offered in three colors that include Lapiz Blue Metallic, Pure White, and Deep Black Pearl Effect.

The 2022 Volkswagen Golf R is expected to go on sale near the end of 2021 and we are expecting a starting price more than the current model base price approximately $40,000 range.
