Lincoln goes all-electric and launch the first-electric SUV in 2022

Lincoln has decided to go all-electric by 2030. The brand will launch the first electric SUV by 2022 and will go fully electric by 2030. The transition was earlier set to take place with the Rivian but for some reason, the delay occurred and now luxury vehicles will come with heavy batteries and the longest range.

The first luxury SUV by Lincoln will have the design inspired by the Zephyr Reflection concept car with high-end tech and updated features. The new model will be designed separately to distinguish it from the conventional models. SUV features a new grille and extends to the headlamps and a digital display in the vehicle’s dashboard. The cabin is roomy but airy one can easily feel the wind stroking through the face.

The all-new Lincoln has an advanced battery-electric architecture with rear and all-wheel-drive. Lincoln hasn’t revealed the mechanics and performance cues of the upcoming first electric SUV but it will compete with the prominent SUVs Jaguar I-Pace, Audi E-Tron, and Tesla Model X and will deliver the range of 300-400 miles.

The electric line-up comes with the Lincoln Active Glide a semi-autonomous driving mode with hands-free capability same as Tesla Autopilot and Cadillac Super Cruise. In Active glide, the driver has to pay attention to the road while driving.

Lincoln has seen the sales through the digital channels which have led to the decision of encouraging more digital sales. The introduction of more digital events to boost the Lincoln vehicles. The digital platform will smoothen the transaction, leasing, and financing of Lincoln vehicles with a smartphone app that alerts the driver to schedule car service and maintenance at Fiesta Lincoln.
