Q2 Auto Sales during Pandemic

The year 2020 is already a big loss for the auto industry. Many dealerships have been shut this year and the Q2 sales figures say the same thing but the recent sales in July are getting better for some automakers that say that the auto industry is getting its growth back. Let’s take a look at July sales and Q2 sales figures:

Hyundai has reported a 0.6% increase in sales for July, by selling 57,677 units. The second-quarter sales have been decreased by about 23.7%.

Genesis the Hyundai luxury division has decreased by 21 percent, selling 1257 units in July.

Kia sales have been decreased by 1.7% in July and its second-quarter sales have been decreased by 27.8%

Honda U.S. sales have been down by 11.8% this July. Its second-quarter sales decreased by 28.1%

Acura sales for the second quarter is decreased by 26.5%

Volvo sales have been up by 10 % in July compared to July 2019, selling 9697 units and its second-quarter sales were down by 15.3%

Mazda sales have been up by 3.4 % this July and its second-quarter sales were down by 9.6%

Subaru sales have decreased by 19.7% this month

Volkswagen said that approx 29% decline in sales during the second quarter.

Porsche, a unit of Volkswagen, said its sales for the second quarter fell 19.9%

Lexus, Toyota’s luxury brand sales decreased by 6%

BMW of North America has decreased its sales by 29.4% in this BMW sales went down by 28.4%, Mini by 38.5% and Rolls Royce by 26.3%

Ford Motor Co. has decreased its sales by 23.4 % in this Ford went down by 24.1 and Lincoln by 8.0

The worst-hit to second-quarter sales is for these brands:

Mitsubishi Motors North America decreased by 39.3%

General Motor sales decreased by 34%

Toyota sales dropped by 34.6%

Fiat Chrysler sales decreased by 38.6%.

Nissan sales decreased by 50.0%

Mitsubishi sales decreased by 58.0%

The Q2 was good for Tesla as its sales increased by 13.2%
