Hyundai confirms three new electric cars

Hyundai is already offering IONIQ in three different powertrains: hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and all-electric (BEV).

After this Hyundai announced that IONIQ will not be a name for a single-vehicle it will be the starting of its EV line-up that will come in the next four years including a compact hatchback based on Hyundai 45 and a sedan based on the Hyundai Prophecy concept and an SUV.

Few details of its first three electric vehicles are revealed along with that it is also revealed that the name is going to use a numerical naming scheme in which even numbers are for sedans and odd numbers are for SUVs.

Hyundai IONIQ 5

This is going to be the first midsize electric CUV based on concept 45. It will be launch in early 2021. Concept 45 was first revealed at International Motor Show (IAA) 2019 in Frankfurt as a concept car. The design has cutting-edge parametric pixels.

Hyundai IONIQ 6

IONIQ 6 will be an electric sedan it will be launched in 2022 based on its latest prophecy concept of EV

Hyundai IONIQ 7

IONIQ 7 will be an electric large SUV it will be launched in 2024.

More details and release dates are not revealed, the automaker says that the vehicles will be having futuristic looks than the powertrain.

The Hyundai 45 exterior lacked door handles, has sharp lines throughout the exterior and tradition front grille. The interior is simple and constructed out of light wood. The Prophecy has looks something between the Tesla Model S and Porsche 911 with rounded lines and a bubble-shaped cabin. The interior is not revealed by Hyundai.

The IONIQ vehicles will go on Electric Global Modular Platform or E-GMP and the automakers said that this platform will expand across various vehicle sizes and shapes.
