Honda Civic Manual Transmission Dead for 2021

Honda’s recent announcement may break your heart if you are a fan of manual transmission because the automaker has discontinued manual transmission for the Civic 2021 model and only automatic will be available. The Civic Coupe was discontinued earlier this year and now the coupe version of Honda Compact Stable is discontinued after this model year.

In the current times, crossovers are taking world, coupe and small cars are not getting much popularity. Honda says the coupe only represents the six percent of the total mix however the hatchback civic is growing currently 24 percent of Civic sales.

The base price of the Civic sedan is increased by $250, starting at $22,005 with an automatic transmission. It keeps the same 158 horsepower 2.0 L 4-cylinder engine for LX and sport trims and 174 horsepower for 1.5 L turbo-4 paired to CVT for EX, EX-L, and Touring.

The manual transmission can be found in Type-R and Civic Si; the 360 horsepower Type-R is a carryover from 2020 and Civic Si is been discontinued for 2021 it will be back in 2022.
