2022 Subaru BRZ gets new refreshed design, coming this year

Subaru is redesigning its BRZ for the first time after its debut in 2012. The advance prototype of the BRZ was spotted in August and on Saturday Subaru confirmed on social media that its new sports car will come this year. Although it will go on sale next year as 2022 model.

Last year Subaru and Toyota confirmed their plan to jointly develop their BRZ and 86 sports cars. The coming of new BRZ has confirmed during the Subiefest car meet in Costa Mesa, California where few fans get to see a sneak peek also. The confirmation pf Toyota 86 is still to be announced.

No technical details are announced yet, we only know that it will be a rear-wheel-drive sports car. From its prototype, we get to know that it will be the same in shape as its predecessors so, the changes will be in headlights, taillights, and grille.

Rumors are that it will be powered with a version of Subaru’s 2.4 liter flat-four. It can be a turbocharged engine that is capable of producing 260 horsepower or 217 horsepower. We hope it will come with a manual transmission as it getting rare.

Unlike its rival Mazda MX-5 Miata, BRZ is having space for four persons. It will come in next year with a starting price of $30,000. It is good that even at this time Subaru and Toyota are thinking about affordable sports cars.
