We all have been waiting for legacy automaker General Motor to unwrap the GMC Hummer EV and finally it’s here. Hummer EV is an all-electric super truck that will compete against electric trucks like Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian R1T.
GM plan is to release four variants of its all-electric GMC Hummer EV: EV2, EV2X, EV3X, and the limited Hummer EV Edition 1. The Hummer EV Edition 1 is the only model that will be available for the first model year and it comes with a bog price tag i.e. $112,595. Rest other trims will come later.
The GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 is powered by a three-motor setup that is capable of producing 1000 horsepower and the largest battery pack is also in it that provides an estimated 350 miles. It is a fully loaded model that comes with standard air suspension, many off-road goodies, a large infotainment system, white exterior paint, a black roof, and bronze wheels. The GM’s Cruise autonomous driving system, removable roof panels, 35-inch tire, and MultiPro configurable tailgates are standard on all the models.
The first additional trim that will come is the Hummer EV3X price tag of $99,995 in late 2022. It has a similar three-motor drivetrain similar to Edition 1. Later, Hummer EV2X’s price of $89,995 will come in the spring of 2023. It will have a two-motor drivetrain less powerful than three-motor and air suspension and four-wheel-steering like in Edition 1 and EV3X. at last, the Hummer EV2 price of $79,995 will come in spring 2024. It will have a two-motor drivetrain without air suspension and four-wheel-steering. We can see all trims has a difference of $10,000. Different battery-pack sizes will also be available but no details are released.
Reservation for all models is open and the cost is $100, the reservation is done through dealerships. GMC said that the production will be start in late 2021 and deliveries will start after that.
