Hello to 2021 Maserati MC20 Super Car

The Italian luxury automaker has been waiting for a long to come back and has already done multiple attempts to achieve this. The company has its latest strategy having a plan for 10 new or heavily revised models by 2023 and the starting is with launching the stunning MC20 that will be available in Coupe and Convertible.

The 20 marks for a year and MC stands for Maserati Corse i.e. Maserati Racing; it is referencing the 2004 MC12 and confirming that the brand will return to top-flight motorsports with this car. MC20 is built on central carbon fiber made up of Dallara, the company that also developed carbon structures for Alfa Romeo 4C and Bugatti Chiron. The coupe version will weigh just 3240 pounds as said by Maserati.

The MC20 will come in two powertrains; the first gasoline will come then after some time of sale electric will come. It will have a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that Maserati calls “Nettuno” (Italian for Neptune). It can produce 621 horsepower at 7500 rpm and specific output is 207.6 horsepower per liter. Maserati claims that MC20 will go from 0-60 mph in less than 2.9 seconds and top speed is 202 mph.

Few things for the electric version are revealed that it will power all four wheels and be even quicker than the gas car. The automaker is aiming for a range of more than 235 miles, under European testing methodology.

The MC20 Maserati is designed by Maserati design boss Klaus Busse who said that this main focus was to create a supercar without vast air intakes and aggressive wings that are common in the class. The interior is clean, simple, roomy and there is the carbon fiber on display softened by leather and Alcantara. No official word on pricing yet, but we can expect the MC20 to start under $200,000.
