Audi revealed the special edition of R8 i.e. Panther Edition. It has exterior paint that looks like deep purple and was shown in Audi RS5 Panther Edition. This R8 edition will be a very limited model only 30 units will be built.
The panther refers to the exterior color that is dark hue specifically Audi-exclusive panther black crystal effect paint with carbon-fiber mirrors and blacked-out Audi badge. It has 20-inch matte black wheels with red trim wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires.
The new Audi R8 interior is full of red color including racing seats covered in Crimson Red leather and black leather with crimson red stitching is on the rest of the interior and Alcantara on the headliner, gear selector, and steering wheel which has Crimson Red 12-o’clock marker. The Bang and Olufsen audio system comes standard with 13-speakers.
The R8 Panther Edition is powered by a 5.2 L V-10 engine that produces 532 horsepower and 398 lb-ft torque on rear-wheel-drive and with all-wheel-drive it makes 602 horsepower. Audi said that the rear-wheel-drive one can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 201 mph. This edition also has a sport exhaust for amplifying the 10-cylinder roar.
The 2021 Audi R8 Panther Edition will arrive in the dealership next month with a starting price of $186,495 including $1,495 destination fees and $1,700 gas guzzler tax. At first, it is offered in rear-wheel-drive and limited to 30 models in the U.S. market.
